Events
Every detection a box sends is an event: a time, a camera, an event type (for example lpr.detected),
a severity, often a subject (such as a plate number) and usually a picture with the detection box.
ANSCMS shows events on event views: pages that each list the event types you choose, such as "Vehicle Monitoring" for plates or "Fire & Smoke" for fire and smoke. Members open them from the application's menu.
Event views
Organisation admins manage event views in Admin console → Pages & menu → the application → Event views. From there you can:
- New view: build a page yourself (view builder);
- Apply template: create a ready-made set of pages (templates);
- Edit menu: choose which pages members see in the sidebar, and in what order.
An event appears only on the views whose Event types include its type. If no view lists a type, its events do not show on any view, even though they were received. See Troubleshooting.
Solution templates
A template creates a set of event pages and the sidebar menu in one go. Every page stays editable afterwards.
- Pages & menu → the application → Event views → Apply template.
- Under Solution templates, pick one. The dialog lists the pages it creates.
- Choose the options:
- Overwrite pages that already exist: off by default, so your existing pages and menu are kept and only missing pages are created. When on, the template's version replaces yours; your edits stay in the version history and can be restored.
- Add the template's new pages to the existing menu: adds the new pages to your current menu without changing the rest.
- Click Apply (or Apply and overwrite).
| Template | Application | What it creates |
|---|---|---|
| Smart ward | ANSMIND | Seven event pages (Vehicle Monitoring, Fire & Smoke, Illegal Sidewalk Occupation, Violence, Weapon, Loitering, Construction), an Overview dashboard, the reports Plate log, Daily summary and Most-seen plates, the menu and suggested branding. |
| Event monitoring | ANSMIND | All events and Critical events pages, an Overview dashboard, an Event log and a Daily summary report. |
| Smart school | ANS Campus | The School module: students, parents, teachers, classes, timetable, attendance board, leave requests, face-recognition and safety pages, a dashboard and four reports. |
The Smart ward pages list specific types: the vehicle page shows lpr.detected, the fire page shows
fire.detected and smoke.detected, and so on. Events of the general types some boxes send, such as
vision.vehicle ("Vehicle (general)") or vision.threat ("Threat (general)"), do not appear on them.
If your boxes send general types, create a view for those types as well. See
Engine boxes and ANSVIS boxes.
The view builder
Open New view, or open an existing view and click Edit view. The Live preview on the right shows the latest events of your organisation as you work.
- Basics tab:
- Key: lower-case letters, digits and dashes, for example
vehicles. It becomes part of the page address and cannot be changed later. - Title and Description, in each language you use.
- Event types: tick types from the list, or type a key your boxes send (for example
vision.vehicle) and click Add. Tick Start the card from this type's defaults to get a sensible card and filters. - Events per page, the Default layout (Grid or List) and Sort.
- Visible to: Everyone, or Only these roles…. Organisation admins always see the page.
- Key: lower-case letters, digits and dashes, for example
- Card tab: Image on the card, Badge (for plates choose Number plate (yellow, copyable)), Title field, Subtitle field and extra Rows.
- Filters tab: the Standard filters (Site, Task type, Camera, Date range, Severity, Status) and any Custom filters. A text filter on Subject searches by the start of the text, which is handy for plates.
- Actions tab: the Bulk actions members may use (Acknowledge, Delete, Export), the Detail fields and History (By subject shows the other sightings of the same plate).
- Click Save. Each save is a new version; Revert to v… goes back to an earlier one.
Then add the view to the menu:
- Event views → Edit menu.
- Use Add…, Move up / Move down, Hidden / Visible and Opens first.
- Click Save menu. The sidebar changes straight away.
Deleting a view removes the page only. The events themselves are kept.
Menu groups
A long menu is easier to read in folders. In Edit menu:
- Click Add group. A New group appears: type its name, and pick an icon and who it is Visible to if you need.
- On each entry, pick the group in Folder. (no folder) takes the entry back out. Move up / Move down order the entries inside a group, and the groups themselves.
- Turn on Start folded to show the folder closed, or switch the group to Hidden to hide it with everything in it. Ungroup removes the folder; its entries stay in the menu.
- Click Save menu. Each group shows as a folder in the sidebar.
Members only see the groups and entries their role allows, and an empty group is not shown to them. An entry inside a hidden group cannot be Opens first.
For example, put all the event views of a ward under one Events folder. The Smart ward template now creates that Events group, and the School module (version 1.3.0) groups its pages under Attendance, Students & parents and Classes. Menus you already have are not regrouped automatically: group them here.

Reading events: cards and filters
On an event view:
- Switch Layout between Grid and List.
- Narrow the list with the filter bar: Task type, Camera, From date / To date, Severity, Status. Clear filters resets them.
- Click a card (Open details) to see the picture, the Detection box, Open original for the full picture, the Details, and History of … for the same subject.
- If a picture does not load ("the link may have expired"), click Refresh.
Camera link
On an event card, a list row or the event details, the camera name is a link (Show this camera's events): it opens the same view filtered to that camera. If the view has no Camera filter, the link opens the site's page instead (Open the site). On a view opened for one site, the link stays on that site.

Acknowledging events
Acknowledging marks an event as seen and handled. Its status changes from New to Acknowledged.
- Tick the events (or Select all on this page).
- Click Acknowledge.
Use the Status filter to show only New events, so the list works as an inbox. Organisation admins can also Delete selected events; this removes them from every page of the organisation and cannot be undone from there.
Exporting
- Set the filters to the events you want.
- Click Export → Export CSV or Export Excel.
A very large export stops at a row limit and says so. Narrow the filters (for example a shorter date range) to export the rest in parts.
All events from your boxes
When an organisation has no event views yet, its Events page shows All events from your boxes: every event type your boxes have sent, newest first. It is the quickest way to see what a new box is really sending, including the event types to put in your views.
- Standard event table shows the older table instead; Hide standard table hides it again.
- As soon as the organisation has at least one event view, the Events page lists the views instead.
